Ways to Volunteer
There are numerous ways you can volunteer your time and influence with Southern Legacy of Life.
Below are some of the most common ways volunteers contribute across Arkansas.
Volunteers who have been personally touched by organ, tissue, or eye donation may choose to share their story with others. These volunteers speak to:
- New nurses and healthcare professionals
- Civic organizations
- Church and faith-based groups
- High school and college classes
- Community or professional groups seeking to learn more about donation
Personal stories educate, inspire, and help others understand the real impact of donation.
Volunteers assist with outreach efforts that encourage donor registration and education, including:
- Donor registration drives
- Health fairs
- Community festivals and events
- Educational tables and outreach opportunities
Southern Legacy of Life works closely with hospitals, DMVs, funeral homes, government agencies, and other community partners. Volunteers may support these efforts by:
- Accompanying SLL staff during outreach visits
- Helping strengthen existing relationships
- Supporting the development of new partnerships
Volunteers also assist with:
- Donor family remembrance events
- Community celebrations and awareness events
- Administrative or office support
- Special projects as needed
Who Can Volunteer
Anyone in Arkansas, and in some cases beyond, can volunteer with
Southern Legacy of Life. Volunteers are often individuals who have been
personally touched by organ, tissue, or eye donation, or those who feel
passionately about the need for more donation in our communities.
Our volunteers may include:
- Donor family members
- Organ, tissue, or eye recipients
- Caregivers and loved ones of recipients
- Living donors
- Individuals currently waiting for a transplant
- Family members or friends of someone on the waiting list
Anyone who wants the opportunity to share their experiences, raise
awareness, and inspire others across Arkansas to give the gift of life is
welcome to volunteer.
